Wespath Systems—Participant Data Update

One of the presentations at the March Conference Forum focused on Wespath’s commitment to participant data security and privacy. An element of this commitment is Wespath "masking" participant Social Security Numbers (SSN) within Wespath’s systems—i.e., Benefits Access for Plan Sponsors. This change will allow only the last four digits of the SSN to be viewable (e.g., XXX-XX-1234).

To align with this organizational commitment, Wespath will similarly be masking participant SSNs in Benefitsolver, our eligibility and enrollment system provided through Businessolver. This impacts HealthFlex, OneExchange and Virgin Pulse plan sponsors. At this time, the masking of the SSN will impact only what is viewable on Benefitsolver screens and not administrative reporting provided through Benefitsolver. Wespath plans to implement this change in May and will discuss the change during the upcoming HealthFlex plan sponsor calls, May 2 and 4.
