Initial Benefit Payments—July Retirees

Initial benefit payments for July 1 retirees are sent on the second business day of the month. Since banks are closed for the Independence Day holiday on July 4, payments will generally be available:

• within three business days (as late as July 7) for retirees who are receiving payments electronically, or
• within five business days (but possibly as many as 10 business days in certain parts of the country) for retirees who are receiving paper checks.

During the week of June 20 a postcard will be mailed to July retirees to notify them of the potential delay.

Helen Exarhakos—New Managing Director of Customer Service

We are pleased to announce our new managing director of Customer Service: Helen Exarhakos. Helen succeeds Debbie Reid who recently retired from the General Board after 23 years.

Helen has been with the General Board since 2002, providing leadership in the Customer Service and Quality Assurance departments. Prior to joining the General Board, Helen was a supervisor at Mercer Human Resource Consulting.
