General Conference Update—CPP Eligibility Changes and Required Adoption Agreements

As referenced in the June 3, 2016 issue of On Board Express, General Conference 2016 approved eligibility changes for the Comprehensive Protection Plan (CPP), effective January 1, 2017. Eligibility changes include:

These approved changes require every annual conference to complete a new Adoption Agreement for CPP. New adoption agreements are due by September 30, 2016 for the January 1, 2017 effective date.

UMLifeOptions for Participants Losing CPP Eligibility
Conferences may want to elect long-term disability or life insurance coverage under UMLifeOptions for clergy no longer eligible in CPP and those newly eligible (including part-time local pastors). For conferences that want to elect UMLifeOptions for the first time or make a change to their current elections: Adoption Agreements are due on October 15, 2016 for the January 1, 2017 effective date. (Conferences not making changes in their UMLifeOptions elections do not need to complete new UMLifeOptions adoption agreements.)

Please return all completed Adoption Agreements to Carrie Persivale at cpersivale@gbophb.org. If you have any questions regarding the plan changes or Adoption Agreements, please contact Carrie Persivale at 1-800-870-4442, ext. 4050.
