Webconference: Tax Law Change Impact on Moving Expense Payments

Wespath will host two webconferences to provide background on the tax law changes related to moving expense payments and discuss plans moving forward. The 1½ hour-long sessions are scheduled for:

• Wednesday, May 23, from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m., Central time, and
• Thursday, May 24, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, Central time.

Both sessions will cover the same information, so choose the time that is most convenient for you or a member of your staff. Instructions for connecting to the meeting will be provided in an Onboard Express that will be sent in advance of the webconferences.

revitup! for a Lifetime in Ministry Offers Scholarship Opportunities and Daycare Again at This Year’s Event

Wespath is hosting a revitup! for a Lifetime in Ministry educational event for young clergy ages 39 and under, November 12-14, 2018 in Pensacola Beach, Florida. This event serves to strengthen personal, financial and leadership skills in order to sustain a lifetime in ministry. The UMC Initiative to Address Economic Challenges Facing Pastoral Leaders is once again offering a limited number of scholarships for first-time attendees of revitup! These scholarships are provided through a Lilly Endowment grant which seeks to strengthen personal and congregational financial stewardship leadership.

The opportunity includes complimentary registration and two nights at the host hotel. Requirements for consideration are available on the website at Wespath.org/events/revitup/ and include:

• An online survey, and
• Completion of the EY financial assessment survey.

Please share information about this scholarship with the young clergy in your conference, and consider partnering with the scholarship opportunity to help cover the costs of travel for your young clergy to attend this important educational event.

To make it easier for young clergy, complimentary childcare will be provided by a licensed, fully-insured, background-checked, uniformed and CPR & First Aid certified team. Hours of service will be during the day while classes are in session. Age-appropriate activities, games, toys and snacks will be provided.
