revitup! An Event for Young Clergy!

revitup! For a Lifetime in Ministry is an event hosted by Wespath Benefits and Investments for clergy under the age of 39*. This year’s event is November 12-14 at the Hilton Pensacola Beach Gulf Front Hotel in Pensacola Beach, Florida.

This event will energize your younger clergy and will help them:

• Strengthen personal, financial and leadership skills that can improve their life and sustain their ministry
• Network with other young clergy from across the denomination
• Participate in one-on-one consultations with class instructors/field experts (benefits consultants, pastoral counselors, financial planners, tax consultants, wills and estate planning experts, and more!)
• Go home with practical new ideas, resources and knowledge

Scholarships
Guess what? Scholarships are available to help send your younger clergy (first-time attendees) to this event!

The UMC Initiative to Address Economic Challenges Facing Pastoral Leaders is once again offering a limited number of scholarships for first-time attendees of revitup! These scholarships are provided through a Lilly Endowment grant which seeks to strengthen personal and congregational financial stewardship leadership.

The scholarship opportunity includes:

• Refunded registration, and
• Two complimentary nights at the host hotel (room and tax only—incidental charges are the responsibility of the attendee)

In order to receive the scholarship, the clergyperson will need to complete two steps:

• Complete an online survey from the UMC Initiative to Address Economic Challenges Facing Pastoral Leaders, and
• Complete the EY Financial Assessment Survey.

Childcare
revitup! also offers complimentary childcare to help make the “getting away” easier! Wespath works with Kid Care Anywhere to provide a top-notch, licensed, fully-insured, background-checked, uniformed and CPR and First Aid-certified team to care for the kids while at revitup!

We hope you will help us promote this event to your younger clergy and encourage their participation this year. We will be moving this event from the southeast to another jurisdiction next year and, while we would love to state that scholarships will be available, we can’t make that guarantee. It’s a great opportunity—please share it with your clergy.

* If you have an older clergyperson actively participating in your Residence in Ministry program and your conference plans to send the RIM group to this event, Wespath will welcome that clergyperson even though he or she is older, as we believe this event provides important information to help get clergy “revved up” for a lifetime in ministry.

Heart of the Matter Webinar—Wesleyan Theology and Well-Being

The Heart of the Matter webinar series will address multiple topics to help guide participants toward optimal health in all dimensions. Please join us for this first webinar in the series: Wesleyan Theology and Well-Being—John Wesley was a strong proponent of personal practices promoting well-being, even writing the book Primitive Physick. During this webinar, learn how John Wesley and Wesleyan theology influence United Methodists views of well-being.

The webinar will be on Tuesday, September 18, 2018, from 2:00-3:00 p.m., Central time. You can register for the webinar here. After registering, you will receive a confirmation e-mail containing information about joining the webinar.

Holiday Closing—Labor Day

Wespath will be closed on Monday, September 3, in observance of Labor Day. Customer service assistance will be unavailable that day.

Benefits Access for participants can be used to access account information and complete transactions 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The automated phone system, accessible by calling 1-800-851-2201, will also be available for participants.

The Wespath Institutional Investor Portal and Benefit Access Portal for Plan Sponsors will be available to plan sponsors, conferences and institutions.
