Participant Communication

This week, Wespath will send two communications to participants:

Direct Deposit Expedites Participant Payments—Avoids Mail Delays

Please encourage your retirees, beneficiaries and participants receiving ongoing payments and distribution payments to choose direct deposit as the quickest and most secure way to receive payments from Wespath.

Due to the current situation with COVID-19 and other delays in mail delivery, participants who rely on paper checks mailed through the U.S. Postal Service will experience significant delays in receiving checks—waiting up to 30 days depending on mail service to certain areas of the country, particularly in regions where mail is delivered only a few days per week. Mail delivery delays are beyond Wespath's control.

Fewer than 2% of participants still rely on paper checks from Wespath. The vast majority of our participants enjoy direct deposit as the fastest and safest way to receive funds directly into their bank accounts. They can do this by logging in to Benefits Access and selecting "Distributions," then "Manage Retirement Benefits"; or by calling Customer Service at 1-800-851-2201. More details are provided on this Direct Deposit Information and Instructions form.
