Survivor Benefit Process Improvements

The Benefits Access for Participants (BAP) administrator role now has the ability to update a deceased participant's address, email or phone number. If you need other updates to a deceased participant’s record, please contact your Client Service Manager.

The Notification of Death is not required to be submitted to Wespath if the conference enters the date of death in Benefits Access for Plan Sponsors. The form should still be submitted if additional information beyond the date of death needs to be relayed, such as survivor information, EFT verification, etc.

Wespath Update to Participants

Wespath sent a participant email on Tuesday, January 11 to clergy and lay employees not in HealthFlex. This issue contains articles about Wespath’s new General Secretary Andy Hendren, the availability of Mental Health First Aid training for all participants, new links to statements in benefitsaccess.org, a timeline for when tax forms will be available, an announcement about in-person educational events for clergy, registration information for an upcoming EY webinar, and a link to the latest monthly investment report. Participants received the articles that are relevant to them. Clergy and lay who participate in HealthFlex will receive their issue of the Wespath Update on January 18.

Wespath Holiday Closing—Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Wespath will be closed on Monday, January 17, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Customer Service assistance will be unavailable that day.

Benefits Access for participants can be used to access acount information and complete transactions 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The automated phone system, accessible by calling 1-800-851-2201, will also be available for participants.

The Benefit Access Portal for Plan Sponsors and Wespath Institutional Investor Portal will be available to plan sponsors, conferences and institutions.
