Disaffiliation Information—Updated

As some local churches, clergy and others reconsider their connectional relationship to The United Methodist Church, Wespath continues to respond by updating FAQs and other information on our disaffiliation information webpage.

We've added two new Q&As that address whether disaffiliating clergy pay a penalty (no) and whether they are required to withdraw their money from Wespath upon disaffiliation (no).

We continue to update our communications in response to feedback from annual conferences, clergy and other stakeholders. Please check the disaffiliation webpage periodically for the most current information.

Stay Informed on Financial Markets and Investment Performance

The May Monthly Investment Report and Markets at a Glance video are now live! Share these valuable resources with your constituencies to keep them up-to-date on the latest in market and economic developments, including the market's recent declines, the future of inflation and rising interest rates.

Participant Communications this Week

The June Wespath Update was sent out June 15-16 to all participants, and includes updates to disaffiliation information, resources for clergy who are beginning a new appointment, reflections on market volatility, well-being resources and educational opportunities. Participants received information specifically tailored to them (e.g., clergy or lay).

Wespath sent out a postcard this week to remind clergy who intend to retire this year that their first benefits payment will be delayed due to the Independence Day holiday. The postcard also serves as a reminder to clergy who haven't set up their benefits yet.

Wespath Holiday Closing—Juneteenth

Wespath will be closed on Monday, June 20, in observance of Juneteenth. Customer Service assistance will be unavailable that day.

Benefits Access for participants can be used to access acount information and complete transactions 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The automated phone system, accessible by calling 1-800-851-2201, will also be available for participants.

The Benefit Access Portal for Plan Sponsors and Wespath Institutional Investor Portal will be available to plan sponsors, conferences and institutions.
