Participant Communications

Last week we sent out our monthly participant newsletter, the Wespath Update, which includes information about the upcoming HealthFlex annual election, retirement-planning educational opportunities, a message on General Conference 2024 from General Secretary Andy Hendren, and more. Participants received a version of the email that is tailored to the services they have through Wespath.

Additionally, participants ages 46-55 who are not contributing to UMPIP will receive a postcard via U.S. mail encouraging personal contributions. Where you have an opportunity, we appreciate your help in reinforcing this message on the importance of saving for retirement.

Now Available: Q3 Market Takeaways and Commentary!

Q3 was a sluggish period for financial markets, but economic conditions have been resilient. While most expected growth and inflation to cool significantly—possibly even moving toward a recession—those predictions now seem premature. Wespath’s Joe Halwax and Frank Holsteen explore these themes and dive further into performance and economic data from the third quarter.

Frank Holsteen, Managing Director of Investment Management, delves into several key themes and takeaways from Q3 in this video recap, including sluggish market performance, the contradictory approaches taken by elected officials and the U.S. Federal Reserve, and valuations of technology companies.

We encourage you to share and reuse our market commentaries with your stakeholders! If you have any questions about repurposing this content, please reach out to our investment communications team: Ryan McQueeney (rmcqueeney@wespath.org) and Ryan Nilsson (rnilsson@wespath.org).
