Participant Communications—Annual Election
Annual Election for 2021 HealthFlex benefits will be Wednesday, October 28 through Thursday, November 12. The following communications have been developed to assist participants with their choices and Annual Election process:
- A mailer detailing plan highlights, changes for 2021, and important things to remember when making benefit elections has been sent to participants.
- This version went to those in the conferences that are new to HealthFlex Exchange.
- This version went to continuing groups.
- All individuals will receive this insert, which is based on the participant research regarding the B1000 vs. HSA/HRA plans that Wespath completed earlier this year.
- A small subset of participants will receive a letter instead of the brochure, as they are unable to make elections through the online system. These individuals will be directed to contact the Annual Election Support Team at Businessolver at 1-844-688-1375 to make changes to HealthFlex benefits for 2021. Plan sponsor representatives can also enter elections for these individuals if you choose to do so.
- The mailer or letter also includes the required notifications regarding creditable coverage and privacy practices, which can be found online.
- Annual Election toolkit materials are now available on the Wespath extranet. We encourage you to use these materials to remind participants about Annual Election dates and details. Access the Extranet through the Wespath portal at portal.wespath.org.
- Multiple documents and resources are available for participants on the HealthFlex/WebMD website, including ALEX, FAQs, fact sheets, health account information and much more. Please encourage participants to login and browse the website ("HealthFlex Details and FAQs," "My HealthFlex Benefits," "Consumer Tools," and "Plan coverage/Changes/Information") for helpful information about their health and well-being benefits.
AE-focused virtual education sessions for participants will be held during the first week of AE and communicated via email. More information about promoting the sessions to your participants will be forthcoming. The sessions will take place:

New Glucose Meters Being Sent to Participants with Glucose-Test Prescriptions
The preferred glucose meter on OptumRx’s premium formulary is changing for 2021. New Contour Next meters will be auto-shipped at to all members currently filling prescriptions for OneTouch or Accu-Chek blood glucose test strips in the first few weeks of December. There is no cost to members or the plan for these new meters.
Free meter auto shipment is in the best interest of members as it ensures they receive a kit containing a new meter and short-term supply of test strips.
Participants will receive a letter advising the OneTouch and Accu-Check meters will be excluded and to speak to their doctor to get a new prescription for ongoing test strips for the Contour Next meter.
Information on the new Glucose Meter can be found here.
Letters for other 1/1 formulary changes will also be sent to impacted participants later this month.
