Participant Communications: March is Register for Wespath's New Websites Month
Wespath has unveiled two new websites for participants in recent months and throughout March we will encourage participants who have not yet registered to sign up. The two websites—Benefits Access and Virgin PulseŽ—replace the HealthFlex/WebMD site, which will shut down in early May. We are making the switch because we believe Benefits Access and Virgin Pulse will provide participants with a better experience and improve their understanding and engagement with benefits.
The registration campaign for Benefits Access began March 2 and is scheduled to continue through March 18. Participants who have not registered will receive a single e-mail from Wespath.
The push to sign up for Virgin Pulse is scheduled to begin March 22 with an e-mail from Virgin Pulse. Reminder e-mails will also be sent by Virgin Pulse on March 26 and March 31.
MDLIVE to be Acquired by Cigna
MDLIVEŽ—the company that allows HealthFlex participants to meet virtually with a board-certified physician 24/7—has agreed to be acquired by a unit of Cigna called EvernorthSM, MDLIVE CEO Charles Jones announced Friday.
Most importantly for our participants, Jones wrote in an e-mail that "you will not experience any disruption to your current level of service."
In the press release announcing the agreement, Jones was quoted as saying, "Together, we can accelerate MDLIVE's growth strategy and ability to serve more customers, while also building new services that will benefit our existing stakeholders, including employees, partners, patients, customers, health plans and providers. With this transaction, Evernorth will gain an industry-leading platform, and a passionate and pioneering workforce that made virtual care a reality, and an essential and life-saving service during the COVID-19 pandemic."
The acquisition is expected to close in the second quarter of 2021, according to the press release.
