Save the Date: The HealthFlex Summit is October 14-15

Please make a note on your calendar that the HealthFlex Summit is scheduled for October 14 and 15.

We are planning to offer the event virtually and we are also exploring if we can support a hybrid conference for those who wish to attend in-person. Stay tuned for more information.

Participant Communications: Health Check Reminders

In e-mails that went out to primary participants on August 3 and 4 we tried to make one thing clear: The deadline to complete the Health Check and avoid a higher deductible is less than a month away. The looming deadline has spurred us to ramp up our communication efforts.

Most primary participants who are registered for Virgin PulseŽ and have not completed the Health Check received this e-mail.

Most primary participants who are not registered for Virgin Pulse and thus can't take the Health Check received this e-mail.

Regardless of Virgin Pulse registration status, if the primary participant does not open the e-mail a follow-up e-mail will be sent August 6.

All primary participants who have not completed the Health Check received one e-mail on August 3 or 4. A minority of primary participants received an e-mail with slightly different wording as part of a test to see which e-mail generated the most engagement.

Also on August 4, Virgin Pulse was scheduled to e-mail covered spouses who have not yet completed the Health Check with a reminder to complete the online survey.

The Story Behind a Virgin Pulse Pop-up Message

If you logged into your Virgin Pulse account in the past couple of weeks you should have been greeted with a pop-up message about the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) Well-Being notice.

The EEOC requires this notice under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Individuals enrolled in Virgin Pulse are scheduled to receive a reminder about the notice once a year. The notice is for individuals enrolled in HealthFlex as well as those who are enrolled in the Virgin Pulse program directly through their annual conference.

For additional information, we have included an excerpt from the EEOC's explanation of the notice:

"Limited financial and other incentives are permitted as part of voluntary wellness programs under the rule. However, employers may not require employees to participate in a wellness program; may not deny or limit their health coverage for non-participation; may not retaliate against or interfere with any employee who does not want to participate; and may not coerce, threaten, intimidate or harass anyone into participating.

Employees also must receive a notice describing what information will be collected as part of the wellness program, who will receive it, how it will be used, and how it will be kept confidential. If the wellness program provides the notice, the employer must still ensure that their employees receive it."
