MDLIVE Behavioral Health Now Available for Participants

A recent survey of mental health professionals by The New York Times and Psychology Today shed light on how hard it is for patients to find support in a timely fashion. MDLIVE Behavioral Health—the new telemedicine option for HealthFlex participants that launched January 1—can help address this concern and other issues that might prevent people from seeking help.

Video or phone visits with MDLIVE Behavioral Health "can be scheduled, on average, in seven days or less," according to the company's FAQs from February 2021. Patients had to wait 35 days, on average, for in-office behavioral health visits, according to the same document.

The New York Times story about the survey results also noted that "medication needs have increased," and "children's mental health issues are intensifying." MDLIVE Behavioral Health can assist with both things.

With MDLIVE Behavioral Health, patients can speak with a licensed therapist or a board-certified psychiatrist. The psychiatrists can prescribe medications and provide medication management. MDLIVE Behavioral Health provides help and support for children ages 10 and up.

With MDLIVE Behavioral Health, participants skip the waiting room and visits are confidential. Participants can conduct the virtual visit from their home, office, or wherever it is convenient during the pandemic.

To learn more or schedule an appointment, participants can visit MDLIVE.com/Healthflex. Participants who already have an MDLIVE account can use their account information to sign in.

Wespath will introduce MDLIVE Behavioral Health to participants in the Wespath Update e-newsletter, which is scheduled to be sent out on January 18 and 19.

Help Spread the Word about Health Check, Blueprint for Wellness®

The Health Check online health assessment is available to complete through Virgin Pulse®. To avoid paying extra on next year's HealthFlex deductible, each participant and spouse (if in HealthFlex) will need to go to www.virginpulse.com/login or the Virgin Pulse mobile app and complete the assessment.

The following materials are available to help you promote the Health Check:

Please note that individuals must be enrolled in Virgin Pulse to complete the Health Check.

Blueprint for Wellness toolkit pieces also are available to send to your participants. The following materials are available to help you promote the Blueprint for Wellness:

If you are considering having an on-site event, editable e-mails are also available to promote your event:

The at-home Activate Self-Collection Kit (previously called just the Self-Collection Kit) will continue to be available outside of New York state, so an on-site event is not critical to achieving widespread access to Blueprint for Wellness if national, state, or local circumstances related to COVID-19 make in-person gatherings unadvisable.

Individuals who complete the Blueprint for Wellness receive $100 Pulse Cash and they can earn Wellness Credits for healthy and improved results.

We encourage you to share at least one of the Health Check e-mails and one of the Blueprint for Wellness e-mails with your participants to raise awareness of the well-being programs.

The deadline to complete both the Health Check and Blueprint for Wellness is August 31.

If you have any questions about Health Check or Blueprint for Wellness, please contact the Wespath Well-Being Team at wellnessteam@wespath.org.

Participant Communications: OptumRx Mailing Apology Letter

A small number of HealthFlex participants had their claim for a diabetic Contour blood glucose meter (BGM) kit rejected by OptumRx by mistake in 2021. It should have been covered at 100%. OptumRx will mail an apology letter to the affected individuals that includes information about how they can be reimbursed.
