Vol. XIX, Issue 5
We apologize for not sending a HealthFlex Express the past couple of weeks. The Wespath communications department has been busy crafting communications to participants. Here is a quick recap and a preview of what's to come:
On February 9 and 10, we e-mailed participants with an invitation to register for first aid training for mental health. Additional communications, including a postcard, will be sent to participants in the coming weeks to promote the First Aid for Mental Health training sessions.
We also e-mailed participants on February 9 and 10 with a HealthFlex Update. There was one version for participants with an HSA plan. And a second version for participants enrolled in an HRA plan or the B1000.
Both versions introduced MDLIVE Behavioral Health and explained that HealthFlex will resume normal cost-sharing of MDLIVE services beginning March 1, 2022 as we shared with you in the January 24 HealthFlex Express. Only the HSA version included an article titled, "Special considerations for HSA participants who use MDLIVE in January, February."
On February 15, we sent participants an e-mail that is designed to complement the well-being brochure they received in the mail earlier this year.
On February 16, HealthEquity is scheduled to e-mail participants with an HSA plan who have not designated a beneficiary. The e-mail explains to participants that they "may already have beneficiary information on file with Wespath for a pension or other benefit; however, that beneficiary designation does not apply to your HSA." We believe some people might have received this e-mail in error from HealthEquity. We are working with HealthEquity to determine the reason for the error and will provide additional information as soon as possible.
The February Wespath Update is scheduled to arrive in inboxes on February 16 and 17. There is information about how to receive at-home COVID-19 tests at no cost from the Optum Store online.
Additionally, HealthFlex participants who have their medical insurance with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois will also be notified in this update they "will soon need to reactivate the single sign-on connection from Wespath’s Benefits Access to the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL) website. BCBSIL is expected to update its website the week of February 21. After the changes take effect, primary participants will be prompted to enter their BCBSIL username and password the first time they access the BCBSIL site from Benefits Access. … Upon logging in, the single sign-on will be re-established for future visits to the BCBSIL site." The e-mail includes instructions for how participants can recover their username and reset their password.
The response we have received to the First Aid for Mental Health training sessions has been bittersweet. Enrollment has far exceeded our expectations—one time for Session 1 is full and we added additional times—which simultaneously affirmed the urgent need to aid people who are struggling with their mental and emotional health.
Individuals can no longer register for Session 1 at 10 a.m. March 10 because that time reached capacity. We also added the following training opportunities: Session 1 at 10 a.m. March 17 and Session 2 at 10 a.m. March 23.
We would appreciate any help you can provide to spread the word about first aid training for mental health. We developed several resources to aid with promotion. There are bulletin inserts, social media graphics and posts, a presentation slide for worship, text for an e-mail and more. On a computer, you can find it all on the upper-right side of the First Aid for Mental Health event page. Below the bio for the First Aid for Mental Health facilitator, you will find a video commercial you also can share.
Registration is now open for Wespath's HealthFlex Mini-Summit (March 16, 1:00 to 4:30 p.m., Central time). All conference benefits officers, treasurers, conference board of pension members and health benefits administrators are invited!
The HealthFlex Mini-Summit will provide wellness updates, information on the new First Aid for Mental Health program, highlights of new and potential administrative and service improvements, and the financial health of HealthFlex.
As noted above, the February edition of the Wespath Update will explain how HealthFlex participants can order at-home COVID-19 tests at no cost from the Optum Store online. We also created a new video that walks participants through the process. Feel free to share the how-to video with your participants.
