HealthFlex Summit Presentations

Thank you so much to everyone who attended the HealthFlex Summit on October 13 and 14. We really appreciated all the questions you asked of the presenters. We hope you found the Summit beneficial. If you were not able to attend, or want to review information, you can find all the presentations here, as well as the teaser video for Care Coordination. Recordings of select HealthFlex Summit sessions will be added this week.

Resources for 2024 Annual Election

A variety of resources to support 2024 Annual Election (Nov. 1-16) are available for you to share with your participants, including:

• The new Benefits Access Annual Election page, with customized content for HealthFlex participants (participant login required)
• Annual Election Toolkit (separate versions for current BCBS and UHC plan sponsors) These pieces are designed for you to communicate about AE to your participants. Wespath will not send these pieces.
• ALEX Benefits Counselor videos and resources for personalized recommendations for plans and health account contributions
  • 2024 Sneak Peek Video
  • Text you can copy and paste into the body of an e-mail
  • Talking points that can be used in your own messaging or to answer participant questions
  • You can also send your direct ALEX URL to those who cannot use Benefits Access (e.g. spouses)
• 2024 HealthFlex Plan Comparisons (English, Spanish, Korean)
• How Do I Choose My HealthFlex Plans? (English, Spanish, Korean)
• New Benefit Bite videos

Annual Election (AE) Webinars and Recordings

Wespath is offering a variety of webinars this fall for HealthFlex participants to learn more about their options during Annual Election. Please share these events or event recordings with your participants.

For ALL HealthFlex participants:

For participants currently in a Health Savings Account (HSA) plan:

For UnitedHealthcare (UHC) participants:

Updated Plan Sponsor Manual, Summary Plan Descriptions Now Available; 2024 Benefit Booklet Available Shortly

Updated versions of the HealthFlex Plan Sponsor Manual and Summary Plan Descriptions are now available to view or download. The manual is a comprehensive and helpful resource for many of the questions HealthFlex participants might ask related to eligibility, enrollment, terminations, elections, appeals and more.

Some of the key changes for the Plan Sponsor Manual include:

• Added information about “mini-COBRA” laws and 2% surcharge on the continuation premium.
• Removed references to United Health Care and Out-Of-Area and clarified Claims Administrator duties between Quantum Health and BCBSIL.
• Updated Plan Sponsor definition.
• Clarified that continuation coverage is not available if coverage is ending due to failure to pay required contributions by the plan sponsor or participant.
• Updated IRS limits for HSA for 2024.
• Removed references to temp

In addition, the 2024 Benefit Booklet will be available during Annual Election, which begins Wednesday, November 1.
