The August 31 deadline to complete the Health Check and Blueprint for Wellness (BFW) is fast approaching, and we need your help to encourage your participants to participate. As a reminder, HealthFlex participants (and spouses, if covered) both need to complete the Health Check to avoid a $250-$500 higher deductible in 2025. Participants and spouses can also earn $100 and up to 140 Wellness Credits for completing the BFW by the August 31 deadline.
Below are some helpful resources that you can share, including text you can paste into an email for targeted outreach to individuals who haven't completed the Blueprint for Wellness or Health Check:
Participants who have not completed either Health Check or BFW have also been receiving e-mail reminders and a letter in the mail to encourage completion.
This week, we will also be sending you another Blueprint for Wellness and Health Check completion file so you can target the reminders to individuals who have not earned their full incentives.
We are excited to announce this year's annual HealthFlex Summit! It is scheduled to begin on Thursday, October 17 at 1:00 p.m. CT, and end on Friday, October 18 by noon CT. The Summit will be held at Wespath's office in Glenview, Illinois. Please mark your calendars. More details will be provided soon.
Wespath recently sent a letter to individuals using a dependent care FSA clarifying the timeline for reimbursement. The letter states that:
The IRS defines the FSA as a reimbursement account. As such, dependent care expenses will be reimbursed after the care is complete, not after payment is made. For monthly services that must be paid in full at the beginning of the month, this may mean reimbursement is processed at the end of the month, depending on the information available on the receipt. Here are two examples:
Participants do not need to make any changes in how they enter reimbursement requests in Health Equity, this letter is simply to clarify the timing for reimbursement.
Annual Election for 2025 will take place from October 30 through November 14 and provide HealthFlex participants the opportunity to select 2025 HealthFlex benefits, change who they cover and elect HSA and FSA contributions for 2025. There will be no plan changes for 2025.
Much more information will be shared about Annual Election in the coming weeks. For now, the 2025 HealthFlex plan comparison and the 2025 How Do I Choose? (optimized for print) are already available. If you have any questions on these documents, please contact a member of the health benefits team.
