2021 Comprehensive Benefit Funding Plans Webinars—Time Change

As announced in the February 7 On Board Express, Wespath will host two webconferences to review the 2021 Comprehensive Benefit Funding Plan (CBFP) application. Please note there has been a change to the times (not the dates). The new times are:

• Thursday, February 20 from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Central time, and
• Tuesday, February 25 from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Central time.

Both calls will cover the same information, so choose the time that is most convenient for you and/or a member of your staff.

Important Reminder to Update Benefits Access

We would like to remind all conferences to update Benefits Access with all participant-related changes that were effective January 1, 2020. The deadline for entering this data is February 29, 2020.

The January 1, 2020 data in Benefits Access is used for the actuarial valuations performed in 2020 for the 2022 contributions. It is important for this data to be accurate and up-to-date.

The January 1, 2020 pay rates entered into Benefits Access impact the 2022 Denominational Average Compensation (DAC), and to the extent this data is not current, the DAC will not be either. Also, updates to appointment percentages for January 1, 2020 impact the 2020 actuarial liabilities and the resulting 2022 contributions.

Conference Forum and HealthFlex Summit—Registration Closes Friday

Register today for the Conference Forum and HealthFlex Summit—the deadline for registration is Friday, February 21.

This year's Conference Forum will be held March 19-20, 2020 at the Loews Chicago O'Hare Hotel in Rosemont, Illinois. Conference Forum attendees will participate in conversations regarding developments within the Church and Wespath as it relates to benefit topics. The event will conclude with a keynote presentation on CyberSecurity Best Practices led by Carolyn Devar, JPMorgan. Click here to view the Conference Forum agenda.

A mini HealthFlex Summit will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18. A lunch will be held at 11:30 a.m. prior to the start of the Summit. If you are a HealthFlex plan sponsor, please plan to enjoy lunch and hear about financial trends and plan enhancements as well as highlights of HealthFlex services. A fellowship dinner for all attendees will take place on Wednesday, March 18 at 6:00 p.m.
