Participant Communication: HealthEquity® Sent Apology E-mail

HealthEquity sent an e-mail February 16 that encouraged recipients to designate a beneficiary for their Health Savings Account (HSA); however, some of the HealthFlex participants who received the e-mail did not have an HSA, so they received a follow-up apology e-mail from Health Equity on February 18. An additional batch of HSA account holders who did not receive the original e-mail have received or will receive it this week.

Updates to Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois Website Now Live

As noted in the February 18 edition of the HealthFlex Express, updates to the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois (BCBSIL) website that were made on February 22 will force HealthFlex primary participants with BCBSIL to reactivate the single sign-on connection from Wespath's Benefits Access to the BCBSIL website. The single sign-on to the new BCBSIL website has been tested and is working.

Individuals who experience issues recalling or resetting their password in order to re-establish the single sign-on are encouraged to contact BCBSIL’s customer service department at 1-866-804-0976. The number is also on the back of the BCBSIL ID card. The Wespath Health Team is unable to troubleshoot this and will provide transfers to BCBSIL if called.

Virgin Pulse® is Promoting Health Check, and You Can Too

Virgin Pulse will send an e-mail March 9 to primary participants and covered spouses who have registered with Virgin Pulse that encourages them to complete the Health Check.

You can help promote Health Check to your participants, too. Just log into the Extranet (User name: extranet; Password: gbop!123). Click on the "HealthFlex and Virgin Pulse Tools & Resources" link at the top. Then scroll down to Health Check to find PDFs you can attach to e-mails.

IRS Form 1095-B, Health Coverage Will be Sent Soon

Wespath will send Form 1095-B to participants this week and next week. Participants will either receive the form in the mail or via e-mail, depending on their preference selected in Benefitsolver.

Form 1095-B is used to report certain information to the IRS and to taxpayers about individuals who are covered by minimum essential coverage. The form will report the months in which participants and their dependents were covered in HealthFlex in 2021.

The deadline to send the forms is March 2. The form will also be available in Benefitsolver after March 2.
