Max Go to Replace Max Buzz in Virgin Pulse Store

In July, the Max Buzz activity tracker will be replaced by the Max Go in the Virgin Pulse store. The Max Go will offer a variety of new features and an enhanced member experience.

HealthFlex will continue to subsidize the full cost of the Max Go, but the subsidized cost will increase to $40 in 2025. Therefore, for HealthFlex conferences that offer Virgin Pulse to their retirees, the activity tracker subsidy amount must increase to $40 on January 1, 2025. The current subsidy amount ($28.99) will remain in place for the rest of 2024. More details will be provided over the next several months when adoption agreements go out.

The Max Buzz will continue to be a supported device in Virgin Pulse and can still be used to track steps and sleep.

Help Promote the Health Check, Blueprint for Wellness®

The August 31 deadline to complete the Health Check and Blueprint for Wellness (BFW) is fast approaching, and we need your help to promote both. As a reminder, HealthFlex participants (and spouses, if covered) both need to complete the Health Check to avoid a higher deductible in 2025. Participants and covered spouses can also each earn $100 and up to 140 Wellness Credits for completing the BFW by the August 31 deadline.

Wespath offers a variety of helpful resources for the Health Check and BFW on the Extranet that you can share—log into the Wespath Portal to access the Extranet and click on "HealthFlex and Virgin Pulse Tools & Resources." Participants who have not completed either Health Check or BFW will also be receiving e-mail reminders and a letter in the mail to encourage completion.

PCORI Fee Reminder

The PCORI fee for plan years ending between October 1 and December 31, 2023 is $3.22 and due by July 31, 2024. Wespath will pay this fee on behalf of all 2023 HealthFlex plan sponsors.

Via Benefits plan sponsors are responsible for paying their own PCORI fee for their 2023 Via Benefits HRA plans. Wespath has collected the data from Via Benefits for all Via Benefits plan sponsors to calculate the 2023 PCORI fee. However, the IRS has not yet updated form f720 with the current PCORI fee amount. We will continue to monitor for this update and send the data and updated instructions once we have the most current form from the IRS.

If you have any questions, please contact Lunyé Banks at lbanks@wespath.org.
