Extended COVID-19 Health Plan Coverage

In order to continue to provide protection and coverage for all HealthFlex participants and families during these challenging times, HealthFlex is extending COVID-19 coverage in all plans through December 31, 2020 as follows:

This includes HSA plans—participants will not be required to meet their deductible before the plan begins to pay for these services.

Using Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DCFSA) Funds for Virtual Events

In lieu of needing in-person child care when schools and camps may be closed or have restricted availability, there are other ways participants can make use of the funds in their DCFSAs.

Some activities a child takes part in from home, such as a virtual day camp or educational events, may be eligible for payment through the DCFSA.

Examples include but are not limited to "Live" (i.e. Zoom) sessions that engage the child for a set period such as:

To find out whether a particular event is covered, participants should contact WageWorks at 1-877-924-3967.

Dimensions Newsletter

Please share this quarter's Dimensions newsletter with your conference. The topic is "Change" and how managing change with a positive outlook can help you develop a renewed perspective. Highlights include a story of how taking clergy renewal leave helped Rev. Kent Kroehler, from Eastern Pennsylvania Conference, improve his well-being and a brain-boosting Dimensions Word Search that can be included in digital newsletters.

Annual Election Dates

The dates for 2021 HealthFlex Annual Election are October 28 to November 12, 2020. More information and communications will follow in the next 4-6 weeks.

Blueprint for Wellness® (BFW) and HealthQuotient (HQ) Communications to Participants

This week we will be mailing this postcard and sending eblasts to HealthFlex participants reminding them of the at-home convenience of the BFW and HQ well-being programs. This separate postcard version will be sent to participants who live in New York State since the Qcard option is not available. There is also a reminder that a participant can earn 250 bonus Virgin Pulse points for completing either before August 15, 2020.

Participant Plan Choice Survey

As we work to understand what keeps people from choosing HRA/HSA plans during annual election, we plan to send a brief survey (less than 10 minutes) to participants enrolled in the B1000 and a small control group enrolled in the HRA/HSA plans.

We will not include groups who are not offering any HRA/HSA plans in 2020. If you are, but would prefer that we do not send the survey to your participants, please contact Kelly Wittich at kwittich@wespath.org or 1-847-866-4058 by July 30.
