Participant Communication: Personalized Letters About Well-Being Programs

Wespath is mailing a letter to HealthFlex households where either a participant, covered spouse, or both have not completed the well-being programs linked to monetary incentives.

The goal of the letter is to remind everyone to complete the Blueprint for Wellness®, the Health Check or both before the August 31 deadline—and to inform them exactly how much they could earn and save by partaking in the programs.

The personalized letters were scheduled to be mailed July 6 and July 7 and notify recipients that each person covered by HealthFlex who completes the Blueprint for Wellness will earn $100 Pulse Cash.

Participants were also reminded that they will not be subject to a higher health plan deductible if they complete the Health Check. If a spouse is covered, both the participant and spouse must take the Health Check for their household to avoid the higher deductible.

As noted in a prior HealthFlex Express, households with family coverage in the H3000 plan in 2022 who do not complete Health Check in 2021 will have their deductible and individual out-of-pocket maximum increased by $500 so the deductible does not exceed the individual out-of-pocket max. Increasing the out-of-pocket maximum, not just the deductible, only applies to the H3000 family "higher deductible plan" beginning in 2022.

The letters captured Blueprint for Wellness information through June 28 and Health Check completions as of June 24, so recent completions will not be reflected. The same data was used to create the completion reports sent to plan sponsors last week.

Unlike previous versions of this letter, we did not specifically mention the Self-Collection Kit and the other ways to complete the Blueprint for Wellness. As a result, New York participants received the same version of the letter as all other participants.
