Update on 2022 Health Care Flexible Spending Account (FSA)

If a primary participant logs into BenefitsAccess.org to make, or review, their elections right now, they will see that they can contribute up to $2,850 to a health FSA in 2022. This is an increase of $100 from the beginning of annual election (AE) and reflects the change announced by the IRS on November 10.

BenefitSolver, our AE administrator, will communicate the change via e-mail to primary participants who made their elections before the contribution limit was updated and elected to contribute $2,700 or more to a health FSA. The BenefitSolver e-mail is scheduled to be sent on November 16 or November 17.

AE will still conclude on schedule, so people will need to select all their benefits—including health FSA contributions—by 11:59 p.m., Central time, on November 18. Primary participants can log in to BenefitsAccess.org 24 hours a day to follow the AE prompts and make, or change, their elections prior to the deadline.

Participant Communications: Wellness Credits Reminders

Virgin Pulse® will send an e-mail on November 19 that reminds individuals they receive $150 Pulse Cash after they earn 150 Wellness Credits. The e-mail will only be sent to HealthFlex primary participants and covered spouses registered with Virgin Pulse who have not yet earned the incentive.

The e-mail notes a few ways to earn Wellness Credits. For a full list of ways to earn Wellness Credits, individuals can log into the Virgin Pulse app and click "Rewards." Look for "My Rewards" on the Virgin Pulse website.

Virgin Pulse also sent an e-mail promoting Health Coaching on November 16 to people registered in Virgin Pulse who had not worked with a health coach in the last 90 days. The e-mail included a reminder that participants earn 25 Wellness Credits per coaching call and can earn up to 150 credits from health coaching.

On December 7, Wespath plans to send a second reminder e-mail about Wellness Credits to HealthFlex primary participants who have not yet earned 150 Wellness Credits.
